Unrelated, 2011  /  Statement

Unrelated explores the relation between human and nature’s
experience during the last phase of life. Through a series of
photographs depicting dying trees surrounded by fresh
vegetation, the author questions the loneliness suffered at the
end of our existence. Younger generations stare at the bending
trunks - which have already started to look like mortal remains-
and it seems as if the elder could feel that isolation; they writhe
in pain, waiting for the time to consume their last piece of bark.
